Cabo Golf: Quivira or Diamante?
When people think of golf in Cabo, the Pacific side stands out with three premier communities: Quivira, Diamante, and Rancho San Lucas. Each offers world-class golf, ocean views, and master-planned living, but when it comes to real estate, they differ in important ways. Quivira is often considered the most balanced option, offering both convenience and variety. Just minutes from downtown Cabo San Lucas and with direct access to the toll road, it provides unmatched accessibility. Its range of price points is a major draw—communities like Mavila and Copala start below $1 million, while Alvar and the upcoming St. Regis Residences reach into the ultra-luxury market. Combined with dramatic topography, hiking trails, and protection from strong Pacific winds, Quivira delivers a unique lifestyle experience. With a new golf course already laid out, a beach club, and the soon-to-open St. Regis Hotel, Quivira continues to build momentum.
Diamante, on the other hand, is all about elite golf. Home to the Dunes Course by Davis Love III, consistently ranked among the best in the world, as well as El Cardonal, Tiger Woods’ first design and the current host of the PGA Tour, it is a golfer’s paradise. Add a par-3 course and the upcoming Legacy Club, another Tiger Woods design, and Diamante offers some of the best golf experiences on the planet. However, lifestyle amenities lag behind Quivira. A beach club is still in the works, residential options are more limited, and prices average closer to $3.5 million. Much of the developer’s Legacy Club inventory isn’t listed on MLS, making comparisons tricky, and the flatter topography means fewer dramatic views.
Rancho San Lucas, developed by Solmar, is home to a Greg Norman-designed course that many consider one of Cabo’s most underrated. The course winds through rolling desert dunes and oceanfront holes, creating a scenic entry experience with panoramic views. Real estate offerings are fewer than at Quivira, but Rancho appeals to those seeking a quieter, low-key lifestyle. Like Diamante, it currently lacks a beach club, which could impact its long-term draw, though its natural beauty and thoughtful design make it a hidden gem.
For investors, golf communities in Cabo consistently show stronger resale appreciation and rental demand than non-golf neighborhoods. The combination of lifestyle, security, and amenities resonates with both end-users and buyers focused on returns. On the Pacific side, Quivira, Diamante, and Rancho San Lucas each bring something unique to the table, but Quivira stands out as the most well-rounded option. With the St. Regis opening soon, a wide range of price points, and ongoing development, it offers immediate lifestyle benefits along with strong long-term upside. Diamante will always command prestige as a golfer’s destination, while Rancho San Lucas offers a scenic, more relaxed alternative. For most buyers, however, Quivira balances golf, lifestyle, and investment potential better than any other community on Cabo’s Pacific side.
