What is the best restaurant in Cabo?
One Restaurant to Visit in Los Cabos? Here’s My Pick.
If somebody called me on their last night in Los Cabos and asked:
"If I can only try one restaurant before I leave, where should I go?"
My answer would probably surprise people.
It wouldn’t necessarily be the most expensive restaurant in Cabo. It wouldn’t be the place with the biggest influencer crowd or the highest-priced steak on the menu either.
I’d probably send them to Farol 16.
Why?
Because some restaurants just consistently make people feel good.
The food is excellent, the atmosphere is welcoming, and the value for what you receive is honestly hard to beat in Los Cabos. The staff makes you feel appreciated the second you walk in, and that matters more than people realize.
One of the best parts is their tasting-style menu setup. It’s almost like elevated tapas — multiple small plates that allow you to try a variety of flavors instead of committing to one giant entrée. It creates a much more social and memorable dining experience.
And yes, getting greeted with a glass of champagne when you walk in certainly doesn’t hurt.
Their newer location in Pedregal is another bonus and adds to the overall experience.
Cabo’s Culinary Scene Is Better Than Most People Expect
One thing people quickly realize after spending time in Los Cabos is how deep the restaurant scene actually is.
You can spend:
- $2 on tacos from a local stand
- $25–$50 for incredible meals at locally loved spots
- Or several hundred dollars per person at ultra-luxury restaurants
The interesting part is that price does not always equal quality.
Some of the most memorable meals in Cabo come from places that aren’t trying to be flashy or over-the-top. In fact, many longtime residents intentionally avoid some of the highest-priced tourist restaurants because they feel the experience no longer matches the value.
That doesn’t mean restaurants like:
- Sunset Monalisa
- Harry's Prime Steakhouse & Raw Bar
aren’t impressive. They absolutely are. The views, atmosphere, and presentation can be incredible.
But Cabo locals often know there are other restaurants delivering exceptional food and hospitality without the massive bill at the end of the night.
Hidden Gems Matter
Another underrated experience many visitors overlook is dining at beachfront spots near The Office on the Beach and Cascadas.
Sometimes visitors get so focused on checking off the “famous” Cabo restaurants that they miss the simpler experiences that actually feel the most authentic.
Sitting barefoot in the sand.
Watching boats drift across the marina.
Having fresh seafood and drinks without feeling rushed.
Listening to live music with the ocean a few feet away.
That’s the kind of Cabo experience many people remember years later.
The Tourist Trap Reality
Los Cabos has world-class restaurants, but like every major tourism destination, it also has places designed almost entirely around extracting money from tourists.
That’s one advantage of talking with locals or people who live in the market full-time. They can usually point you toward places where:
- The food is consistently good
- The service feels genuine
- The atmosphere is relaxed
- And the value still makes sense
Because at the end of the day, the best restaurant experience usually isn’t just about the food.
It’s about how the place makes you feel.
And in Los Cabos, there are plenty of restaurants that can do exactly that — without needing a four-figure dinner bill.
